Licensed Septic Installer Directory & Vetting Registry

We are building this directory with installers who show us a current TDEC installer permit — $200 for conventional systems, plus $100 for each alternative type. No county has a listed installer yet. Until it does, send your details below and we match you by hand.

LISTING SLOT: SEVIER COUNTY LISTING PENDING

Sevier County installer — not yet listed

SEVIERVILLE · PIGEON FORGE · GATLINBURG

Steep ground above the valley floor often needs a mound or treatment unit, so the installer we list here must hold the TDEC alternative-system endorsement, not just the conventional permit.

Knox County installer — not yet listed

KNOXVILLE · FARRAGUT · POWELL

Limestone karst means shallow bedrock on some lots and not others. Two houses on the same street can need different systems, so the installer quotes against a perc test, not a drive-by.

Blount County installer — not yet listed

MARYVILLE · ALCOA · TOWNSEND

Valley floor to Smokies foothills. Which system the lot is allowed depends on the soil evaluation; the installer names the type in writing before quoting.

Hamilton County installer — not yet listed

CHATTANOOGA · SIGNAL MOUNTAIN · SODDY-DAISY

Ridge lots with shallow bedrock price very differently from valley lots: complete replacement runs $15,000–30,000 around Chattanooga, tank only $3,000–8,000.

BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING
01

Current TDEC installer permit

Ask to see it. TDEC issues it separately from your county construction permit: $200 for conventional systems, plus $100 for each alternative type — low pressure pipe, mound, oxidation lagoon, aerobic treatment. If your site needs a mound and they only hold the conventional permit, they cannot legally do the job.

02

Rock clause in writing

East Tennessee limestone stops trenchers. Have the contract say what happens if rock is hit — a fixed price, a cap, or a rate you have agreed to — so it is not a surprise change order after the ground is open.

CONTRACT: ROCK CLAUSE IN WRITING check_circle
03

Certificate of insurance

Ask for a certificate of insurance sent from the insurer, naming you as additional insured. A verbal “licensed and bonded” means nothing when an excavator hits your power line.

04

Open-Trench Sanitarian Inspection

Nothing gets covered until the county inspector has seen it. Put it in the contract. In Sevier a failed inspection means a $100 Re-Inspection Application and a call between 8:00 and 9:00am to get back on the schedule.
